Question: According to 7.4.9.3(3), could you clarify the 600 mm vertical distance required for a standpipe that does not drain to a laundry tray? The Code says it shall be measured 600 mm from the trap weir yet the Appendix drawing shows the measurement to the horizontal section of the outlet pipe above the trap weir.
Interpretation: The appendix is only a guide and is not to be used as the requirement but for explanatory purposes. The figure in question is not wrong but it is not to be used literally as it is above the actual trap weir and therefore is longer than the true requirement.
